Shop Direct Group, the UK’s leading online and home shopping retailer, enjoyed a strong SS08 season with sales up 9% compared to the market’s decline of 3.5%. This is the retailer’s third consecutive year of growth. The Liverpool-based retailer ‘kicked-on’ from last year with demand up nine percent on last year and 11 percent against budget across menswear.  Ladies clothing also did particularly well to the end of April, growing nine percent, against a market decline of 8 percent.  This performance has boosted market share to 4.4 percent.  In football clothing, sales are 13 percent up, despite England’s failure to qualify for this year’s European Championships. David Inglis, Trading Director, said: “I expect us to continue our growth in this segment in the future.  We have developed a superb offer in this market on the back of strong relationships with our suppliers and we have some exciting new developments in the pipeline including exclusive ranges.”
